Some of the common formats are:

  • The DVD-5 format provides storage on a single-sided, single-layer disc. Total storage capacity is 4.7 GBytes.
  • The DVD-9 format provides storage on a single-sided, dual-layers disc. Total storage capacity is 8.5 GBytes.
  • The DVD-10 format provides storage on a double-sided, single-layer disc. Total storage capacity is 9.4 GBytes.

DVDROM discs are manufactured (replicated) in a similar fashion to CDRom's. After receipt of a DVDr or DLT master, we create a glass master followed by a complicated injection molding process where we "press" the material onto melted polycarbonate thus creating a disc. After the disc has been injection molded, a silver film is metallized on the mold to form one half of a DVD. Two of these "half thickness" (0.6mm discs) discs are bonded together to produce a DVD.
In house shaped DVD replication!! We can replicate and make different shaped DVD's to give you many different options. We create shaped DVDs in any "Continuous Shape" by hydro-cutting a standard DVD. Hydro-cutting adds 2-3 business days to the turn time of your cd replication order and is available in several sizes and shapes.
